Communications and Marketing Senior Associate, Events and Community Relations

The Foundation is currently seeking a Communications and Marketing Senior Associate who will focus on Events and Community Relations. The position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced event planning professional to help bring the Foundation's mission to life through meaningful gatherings and community convenings.  

The Communications and Marketing Senior Associate, Events and Community Relations will be a member of the Foundation's Communications & Marketing team. 

The Communications and Marketing Senior Associate, Events and Community Relations will: 

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the Foundation's calendar of events, convenings, and community gatherings. 

  • Develop and manage event timelines, budgets, and project plans to ensure seamless delivery. 

  • Oversee event logistics, including venue sourcing, vendor coordination, catering, and audio/visual setup, as well as on-site execution. 

  • Collaborate across departments to align event programming with the Foundation's development, community investment, advocacy, and capacity building priorities. 

  • Support partner engagement efforts, including outreach to community members, grantees, and donors before and after events. 

  • Draft event-related communications including invitations, promotional materials, talking points, and post-event recaps.  

  • Track RSVPs, attendance, feedback, and outcomes, and prepare reports for internal review.  

  • Support the President and CEO with logistical and communications needs related to the Foundation’s events and community relations activities.  

  • Assist with the development and execution of the Foundation's broader communications and marketing plan as it relates to events and community engagement. 

A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is required. A minimum of three years of experience in event planning and management is required, along with experience in communications, marketing, public affairs, or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills; strong organizational abilities; and the proven capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A strong knowledge of Rhode Island and a commitment to community and public service are essential. Experience with Microsoft 365 is a plus.
