Organizational Development Grants
We are pleased to offer nonprofits resources to support their organizational needs.
Organizational development grants can now be used to fund a range of activities that strengthen and improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness, including anti-racism training to help create an inclusive and respectful organizational culture.
Organizational development grants may support activities such as strategic planning, business planning, feasibility studies, fund development planning, marketing and communications planning, planning for reorganization, streamlining, and/or mergers, financial management planning or systems adoption, and transition or succession planning. This grant program may also support anti-racism training activities that guide a single organization through a comprehensive process to dismantle practices or policies that thwart racial equity.
Proposals are evaluated on the clear articulation of need, the organization’s ability to demonstrate readiness to undertake the proposed project, and the clarity of measurable outcomes.
Organizational development grant requests may be up to $10,000. Organizations of all budget sizes may apply, but priority will be given to those with an annual budget below $3M or those uniquely serving a critical need.
Recognizing the difficulty that new or start-up organizations face when seeking funding for part time staffing, applicants with an annual budget below $250,000 and with five or fewer years in existence may apply for salary support.

Proposals are evaluated on the clear articulation of need, the organization’s ability to demonstrate readiness to undertake the proposed project, and the clarity of measurable outcomes.
Beyond these criteria, consideration will be given to organizations in the early stages of development, particularly if their work addresses a population or issue that is underserved, as well as organizations whose work shows considerable potential for long-term impact. Organizations can apply for up to $10,000.
Grantees should plan to keep Foundation staff apprised of their progress. All grantees will be expected to submit a final report, describing the success of the project against its stated goals. From time to time, Foundation staff may convene grantees to share experiences and lessons learned.
