Philanthropy Coordinator and Assistant to the Vice President of Development

The Foundation is currently seeking a Philanthropy Coordinator and Assistant to the Vice President of Development to work within our Development Department, providing top administrative support with a focus on attention to detail, customer service, and accuracy.
Under the guidance of the Vice President of Development, the successful candidate will work to ensure that the Foundation’s stewardship and cultivation processes are executed accurately, efficiently and in compliance with internal policies, procedures and very high quality standards. The successful candidate will also provide daily administrative support to the Vice President of Development and limited administrative support to the Foundation’s philanthropic advisors.
The Philanthropy Coordinator and Assistant to the Vice President of Development will work within a department that values the staff-donor partnership and acts in a manner consistent with the values, goals and objectives of Rhode Island Foundation to create an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, innovation, accountability and dedication to our mission.
This position will work primarily in-person in the Foundation’s downtown Providence office with an option for a hybrid-remote work schedule.
More specific duties include direct high-level customer service to donors, prospects, professional advisors, and Foundation colleagues via phone, email, and in-person; complex scheduling and calendar management, working within the Foundation’s databases of record, providing basic research, electronic filing, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, preparing correspondence and proofreading, managing spreadsheets, assisting with cross-departmental mailing lists, and general coordination, and more.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task and understand the mindset and sense of urgency inherent to a Development team that is laser focused on building long-term, deep relationships with donors, donor prospects, professional advisors and internal colleagues to fund the important work of the Foundation. In addition, the successful candidate will also have strong technology skills; including data entry and report generation, document preparation, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, and familiarity working with databases.
