Donors: Ways to Partner
with the Foundation

Our donors are the lifeblood of the Foundation. Their generosity and foresight make the good work of our grantees possible. We are proud to work with donors from a wide variety of backgrounds, interests, and means. Won't you join them?

We hosted a reception to honor our most recent partners.
We thank some of our newest partners at a reception for new fundholders and 1916 Society members.

When you partner with the Foundation, you receive:

  • Creative, flexible, and easy ways to give
  • Sound investment policies
  • Stewardship and community knowledge
  • Permanence and stability
  • Maximum tax benefits
  • Recognition

Primary ways to give

  1. Create a fund
  2. Establish a legacy with a planned gift
  3. Contribute to the Fund for Rhode Island - our unrestricted fund which supports our state's most pressing unmet needs
  4. Give to our Civic Leadership Fund - our current use fund, established in 2012, which empowers us to go "beyond grantmaking" to influence critical community challenges through convening, research, and policy

The 1916 Society

Rhode Islanders who name the Foundation in their estate plans or establish deferred gifts become members of the 1916 Society and are acknowledged as special partners in philanthropy.
