For Nonprofits

Nonprofits across our state are working hard to make Rhode Island a better place for all to live and work. The Foundation is proud to support them. Together, we can improve lives.

This video from our 2017 Annual Meeting honors the Center for Women & Enterprise, recipient of our Community Leadership Award.

There are three primary ways in which we can work together:

  1. Grant opportunities
The Foundation - thanks to the generosity of our donors - offers many grant opportunities.
  2. Initiative for Nonprofit Excellence
Our Initiative for Nonprofit Excellence builds the capacity of nonprofit organizations so they can better achieve their missions. The Initiative supports nonprofits by sharing best practices, providing tools, doing good research, and encouraging leadership.
  3. Organizational endowment funds
More than 150 Rhode Island nonprofits have entrusted the Foundation with management of their organizational endowments and receive regular grant distributions from their fund. We would welcome the opportunity to talk with you about establishing an endowment at the Foundation for your nonprofit.

Nonprofits receive record $45 million in 2016

We awarded a record $45 million in grants to fund hundreds of programs serving Rhode Islanders throughout the state in 2016.
